AUDITION REQUIREMENTS FOR DRAMA 321/421
Alan K. Sapp Instructor ___________________________________________________________
There will be two audition dates:
Monday, September 11, 2006 (by appt. - see below)
Wednesday, September 13 9:30-12:20 The focus will be on group and pair exercises. Also, individual interviews will be conducted.
Instructions for Monday
Prepare one monologue from a playwright who is British, and whose writing coincided (roughly) with the lifetime of Oscar Wilde. G.B. Shaw is an obvious choice…also, John Osborne, T.S. Eliot, Noel Coward, and of course, Mr. Wilde himself. I’m sure there are others. You can present your monologue with or without an accent. The monologue should be no longer than 2 minutes in length, and should be a character that you could see yourself playing. The monologue must be memorized!
The names of the students who have been accepted into the course will be posted Thursday, September 14.
If there are more students auditioning on Monday, than there are slots, I will post an additional sign up sheet for the beginning of Wednesday, the 13th.
See you soon!
